Dateline: 7th October, 2007 English Language National Theatre for Wales Wales is to have its own National Theatre of the English Language, it was announced on Friday at a special symposium organised by Aberystwyth University’s Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies. Arts Council Wales' Senior Arts Development Officer (Drama), Sandra Wynne, announced that shortly adverts will appear in the press for a Chair and board members for the new English language national theatre of Wales. The new organisation will not be buildin-based, following the Scottish model. The new organisation will be complementary to the Welsh language national theatre, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru.
