Not Part Of Festival wants acts and eventsFollowing last year's Not Part Of Manchester International Festival, running alongside the real MIF, and January's Not Part Of New Year's Eve, the Not Part Of crew has announced a week-long festival for July which, as it falls between the biennial MIFs, is simply titled Not Part Of 2008. The festival will bring together various events happening throughout Manchester between 2 and 12 July under a common banner to give them access to greater publicity opportunities and mutual support. Beth McCan, the Festival's director, said, "We are looking for artists, creators, venues, acts, promoters, etc who want to be involved with a festival that will not profit from them but provide a platform for them to promote themselves and all the other artists involved. We place no artistic constraints on creators other than they take the Not Part Of Oath to support all the other artists that have done the same. "If you already have an event on in and around Manchester city centre between 3 and 12 July then we would be delighted to hear from you. If youve an idea for an event then well give you all the help and advice we can. Instead of being one event in isolation, be part of something bigger and stronger; be Not Part Of." The organisers have already announced that they will hold another event next year once again to run alongside the official MIF from 2 to 18 July 2009. For more information, see the Festival web site at www.notpartof.org. If you are interested in taking part or helping out, e-mail gareth@notpartof.org or ring 07856 977 329.
