It is awards season in theatreland in the north west, with two regional
newspapers and one fringe theatre celebrating the best of theatre within
its area over the past year.
The nominations chosen by the panel of the Manchester Evening News
Theatre Awards have been published today in the newspaper's weekly City
Life supplement. Due to a shakeup at the company after its takeover
by Trinity Mirror, the awards, which have been running since 1982, are
being announced much later than usual and were, for a time, thought
not to be taking place at all. The winners will be announced in a special
MEN supplement to be published on 10 February.
