Dateline: 5th October, 2004 More Aladdin Casting The Old Vic has announced more star names who will join Ian McKellen in the pantomime Aladdin. They are Maureen Lipman, Roger Allam, Sam Kelly, Cat Simmons and Joe McFadden. All are experienced in music theatre: Allam created the role of Javert in Les Miserables and recebntly played in Privates on Parade at the Donmar; Lipman was most recently seen in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Oklahoma!; Kelly is currentlyplaying Senex in the National's version of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; Simmons has played Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar and McFadden played in Rent (Shaftesbury) and has also played Peter in Peter Pan. The panto will be directed by Sean Matthias and written by Billie Brown.
