Pugilist Specialist Expands, Transfers and Is Broadcast

San Francisco's The Riot Group have been enjoying a huge success at London's Soho Theatre, and with only a few tickets left for the entire run can now announce that Pugilist Specialist will be back in London for an extra three weeks at the Riverside Studios, Hammersmith from 20th April to 8th May 2004.

Pugilist Specialist has received universal acclaim as 'the first play directly inspired by the 'liberation of Iraq'''. The play introduces four highly-trained American marines who are assigned the task of eliminating a troublesome Middle Eastern leader. The play unfolds in series of field recordings detailing the planning, execution and mishandling of modern political assassination.

Pugilist Specialist will also be broadcast in its entirety as the Friday Play on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 6th February. The radio production stars The Riot Group - Adriano Shaplin, Stephanie Viola, Drew Friedman and Paul Schnabel - and was directed at the BBC by Lu Kemp.

The Soho Theatre performances finish on Saturday 7th February, with an extra midweek matinee now booked for Wednesday 4th February at 4pm. The London run is then followed by a 26-venue national tour running until 29th May. Full details are below.

Pugilist Specialist will open in New York for a month at the new off-Broadway E59E Theatre in September, which will be the company's US debut.
