Dateline: 2nd February, 2007
Penhall Returns to the National In April the National Theatre will present a new play by Blue/Orange writer Joe Penhall, Landscape With Weapon. Starring Tom Hollander and Julian Rhind-Tutt and directed by Roger Mitchell (whose film Venus is currently attracting considerable notice), it will play in the Cottesloe. Mitchell also directed Blue/Orange and the creative team of William Dudley (design) and Rick Fisher (lighting) will work on Landscape. "Tom and Julian are a double act to die for," Penhall told the Guardian this week. "Everybody signed up thrillingly quickly and willingly, so I have unusually high expectations. It felt like one of my heftier plays, requiring a heavyweight team, which is what we've got. I can't wait to get into rehearsals." In the summer Mitchell will direct the Donmar Warehouse's revival of Pinter's Betrayal. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
