National Theatre Spring Casting Update
The False Servant
Nancy Carroll will play the Chevalier in The False Servant, replacing
Lia Williams who has had to withdraw from the production for health
reasons brought on by overwork.
The cast for Jonathan Kent's production of The False Servant
by Pierre Marivaux, in a new version by Martin Crimp, includes Nancy
Carroll, David Collings, Charlotte Rampling, Adrian Scarborough and
David Shaw-Parker. It opens in the Cottesloe on 1 June.
Measure for Measure
The Travelex £10 Season
In Simon McBurney's production of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure
(a collaboration with Complicite), previewing in the Olivier Theatre
from Tuesday 18 May (opening on 27 May), David Troughton will play Vincentio
(the Duke of Vienna), joining Naomi Frederick as Isabella and Paul Rhys
as Angelo. The cast also includes: Jamie R Bradley, Steven Crossley,
Cait Davis, Johannes Flaschberger, Mike Grady, Tamzin Griffin, Rhydian
Jones, Toby Jones (Lucio), Richard Katz, Meredith MacNeill, Clive Mendus,
Ben Meyjes (Claudio), Kostas Philippoglou, Vinette Robinson and Angus
Wright.
The History Boys
Alan Bennett's new play The History Boys opens at the Lyttelton on 18
May, directed by Nicholas Hytner. The full cast is: Samuel Anderson,
Tom Attwood, Samuel Barnett, Stephen Campbell Moore, Dominic Cooper,
James Corden, Frances de la Tour, Rudi Dharmalingam, Sacha Dhawan, Richard
Griffiths, Colin Haigh, Andrew Knott, Clive Merrison, Jamie Parker,
Joseph Raishbrook, Russell Tovey and Joan Walker.
Iphigenia at Aulis
Katie Mitchell's production of Iphigenia at Aulis by Euripides,
translated by Don Taylor, opens in the Lyttelton on 22 June and will
run in repertoire until 7 September. The cast includes Annamaria Adams,
Ben Daniels (Agamemnon), Kate Duchene (Clytemnestra), Martin Hodgson,
Kristin Hutchinson, Sean Jackson, Helena Lymbery, Sarah Malin, Penelope
McGhie, Hattie Morahan (Iphigenia), Peter Needham, Charlotte Roach,
Dominic Rowan (Menelaus), Justin Salinger (Achilles) and Susie Trayling.
