Persson was Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet. His stunning images present an exclusive behind-the-scenes view, from rehearsal to performance, of one of the world's great ballet companies. Catalogue available from the Bookshop.

From concept to opening night, learn how the NT's workshops brought the visionary world of Philip Pullman's trilogy His Dark Materials to the Olivier stage.

Festival of Lights
6 December - 6 February
At the darkest time of the year, the National presents a foyer exhibition inspired by light, fire, sun and moon festivals from around the world. In addition, join us from 10.30pm on Saturdays in January for spectacular performances in the Djanogly Concert Pitch (except where stated).

  • 3 Jan: Eastern European celebration with The Kremlinaires.
  • 10 Jan: French fire sculptor Denis Tricot with live music by Alexander Balanescu (Theatre Square)
  • 17 Jan: Intense African inspired music, performance and video with Nzi Dada.
  • 24 Jan: Chinese New Year celebration with Continuuuum Arts.
  • 31 Jan: Sister India's explosive mix of sounds and visuals.

Catch the best in jazz, folk, world music and more in the Djanogly Concert Pitch in the main foyer, before evening performances and Saturday matinees.
