Travelex at the ROH

Foreign exchange firm Travelex has agreed a £1m sponsorship deal with the Royal Opera House for the next three years, beginning with the 2005-5 season.

As with the Travelex scheme at the National Theatre, the money will allow the ROH to offer £10 seats, although the organisation of the scheme will be different. At the Covent Garden venue 100 seats in the stalls and circle will be available on Monday evenings for just £10, a saving of up to £165. Tickets will be sold on a lottery basis an hour and a half before the performance begins and the scheme will apply to both opera and ballet performances.

Among the stars due to appear in the new season are Cecilia Bartoli, Placido Domingo and Bryn Terfel.
