Fielding. Emma's last RSC production was School for Scandal in
the Barbican Theatre, directed by Declan Donnellan, in 1998/9.

the Shrew and The School of the Night in 1993.

As You Like It by William Shakespeare
As You Like It is directed by Gregory Thompson, making his RSC
directorial debut. His most recent work includes the open air production
of The Tempest at Lincoln's Inn Fields and Max Frisch's Andorra at the
Young Vic.
After initial performances in the Swan, this production will travel
to Washington to perform at the Kennedy Center before returning in May
for the remainder of the Festival Season in Stratford.
As You Like It previews from March 2003
The Tamer Tamed by John Fletcher
John Fletcher wrote his version of this battle of the sexes, also known
as The Woman's Prize, in 1611, before collaborating directly
with Shakespeare on Henry VIII. The story is seen as a sequel
to Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, with the 'wife tamer'
Petruchio getting a taste of his own medicine as his second wife Maria
sets about 'taming' him.
Gregory Doran's last project with the RSC was the presentation of five
rarely performed Jacobean and Elizabethan plays which, after a sell
out season in the Swan theatre in Spring/Summer 2002, recently transferred
to the Gielgud Theatre in London. As well as leading the Swan season,
Gregory directed Fletcher's The Island Princess.
The Tamer Tamed previews from March 2003
Brand by Henrik Ibsen, translated by Michael Meyer
This production is presented in association with the Theatre Royal Haymarket
Productions and Stanhope Productions.
Directed by outgoing RSC Artistic Director Adrian Noble, this rarely
performed portrait of faith and the search for enlightenment was written
by Ibsen in 1866 and is being staged for the very first time at the
RSC. Cast from a 'stand alone' company, it performs a six week run in
the Swan Theatre before transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket
in London.
Ralph Fiennes takes the title role of the troubled priest. He last
appeared at the RSC in 1990 when he played Berowne in Love's Labour's
Lost and Troilus in Troilus and Cressida.
Previews from April 2003.
Cymbeline by William Shakespeare
The final production to open in the Swan Theatre is the first staging
of the play in this venue.
Dominic Cooke, whose production of The Malcontent is part of
the Jacobean Season of plays currently playing at the Gielgud Theatre,
directs Emma Fielding as the wronged heroine, Imogen.
The last RSC production of Cymbeline was directed by Adrian
Noble in the 1997 season at the RST/Barbican with Joanne Pearce in the
role of Imogen.
Previews from July 2003.
