Dateline: 25th June, 2008 RWCMD Targets 15 - 19 Year Olds The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is launching a Young Actors Studio (YAS) in September 2008. YAS is dedicated to providing top-quality specialist training for young actors before they go on to higher education. The course is initially targeted at 15 - 19 year olds and will seek to encourage applications from talented youngsters from all backgrounds. The curriculum will focus on the essential areas required to be a successful actor and training will be delivered in small workshop-style groups. It will run on Sundays. Bursaries of up to 100% are available for families who require assistance with fees. The College would welcome applications from outstanding teachers in any of the disciplines of acting, movement, singing, combat and voice (oratory). It is looking for people with the highest level of professional practice and teaching experience, as well as substantial experience with a recognised young people's theatre and/or professional theatre company. Applications will be considered from those interested in taking a specific number of workshop sessions or a comprehensive programme of work that extends throughout the year.
