South Bank Show Nominations

ITV's flagship arts programme the South Bank Show has announced the nominations for its annual awards, made across all art forms.

In the theatre section, three productions are up for awards: The Philanthropist and Mary Stuart, both at the Donmar Warehouse, and My Name Is Rachel Corrie at the Royal Court.

In the Breakthrough section, actor Ben Silverstone is nominated along with nine others, one from each arts form: Film, Dance, Opera, Pop, Visual Arts, TV Drama, Literature, Classical and Comedy. Also nominated are Joe Wright (Film), Billie Piper (TV Drama), Rupert Pennefather (Dance) and Kate Royal (Opera).

The Cricket Recovers - Aldeburgh Festival/Almeida Opera
Mary, Queen of Scots - English Touring Opera

Arts Council England - decibel award
Chris Ofili - Freeness
Jonzi D - Breakin' Convention at Sadler's Wells
Madani Younis - Director of Asian Theatre School, Bradford

The winners will be announced at a special ceremony at the Savoy Hotel on 27th January, which will be broadcast on Sunday evening, 29th January.
