Dateline: 22nd January, 2006
Scottish Ballet Returns to London Scottish Ballet is to return to London after a six year gap to perform two programmes at Sadler's Wells. On 14th, 15th, 17th and 18th March (evenings at 7.30pm, Saturday matinee at 2.30pm) they will perform Ashley Page's new (2005) Cinderella, which was created around the strengths of the company, which Page describes as being "incredibly fit and dancing the best it has ever been, with real personalities, confidence and maturity". Described by The Times as "a riot of clever post-modern ideas and an entire paintbox of colours, shapes and patterns", the design of the piece sets it in "Westwood meets Warhol" 18th century France. Cinderella will also play at Stoke's Regent Theatre from 8th to 11th March. On 16th March the company will present a triple bill of George Balanchine's Episodes, William Forsythe's Suite from Artifact and Stephen Petronio's MiddleSexGorge. It will be the first time that Episodes has been seen in London for more than forty years. The triple bill will also play at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre (30 March to 1 April) and the Theatre Royal Glasgow (5 to 8 April). Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
