Coming to Scarborough
Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre had announced its October 2010
to March 2011 season, which includes four in-house productions, three
of them premieres:
16th September - 16th October
Life of Riley
Written and directed by Alan Ayckbourn (Premiere)
With a few months of his life remaining, George Rileys closest
friends remember with love, nostalgia or occasional bursts of downright
fury, how deeply he has affected all their past lives. George, though,
is plotting one last final farewell which threatens to upset all their
future lives. What exactly is the eccentric maverick Riley playing
at?

The Price of Everything
By Fiona Evans (Premiere)
Directed by Noreen Kershaw
Eddie Carver is a self-made businessman. In stark contrast with his
humble beginnings he now boasts a millionaire lifestyle: exotic holidays,
flashy cars and real designer clothes. Not to mention exclusive country
pursuits: hunting, shooting and fishing. Then one evening
Eddies behaviour becomes erratic.
A tense and gripping thriller, this new play calculates the price
we pay for material possessions and the effect it has on those we
love.

The Hunt for the Scroobious Pip
Based on the nonsense writings of Edward Lear, written by Andrew Pollard
(Premiere)
Directed by Adam Sunderland
Mr Quangle Wangle (and his enormous hat) sets off on his quest to
find the weirdest animal in the world the elusive Scroobious
Pip. He is aided, abetted and frequently annoyed by the Jumblies,
whose heads are green and hands are blue.

The Snow Queen

Gerda makes an epic journey across the Northern Lands to an ice-bound
realm and the final deadly battle with the Snow Queens mighty
