TAG Appoints New Director

TAG Theatre Company, regarded by many as Scotland's leading touring theatre for chidlren and young people but which saw, in November, a 50% reduction in its funding from the Scottish Arts Council over two years, has appointed Guy Hollands as artistic director, following the resignation of Emily Gray.

Most recently Hollands, who has worked in Scottish theatre for thirteen years, directed Zinnie Harris’ Nightingale and Chase, currently at the Citizens’ Stalls Studio. He directed TAG’s last major tour of Harold Pinter’s classic The Birthday Party. In addition he has worked with the company on projects such as The Banyan Tree, assisting Annie Wood, as well as 18X and Young Europeans, both part of TAG’s four year Making the Nation project.

He began community and outreach work at the Citizens', directing the first ever community company performance at the theatre (a project now in its sixth year) and has been for the past two years one of the Gorbals Drama Workers at the Theatre.
