Dateline: 17th September, 2006
TAG and Greig at the Citz TAG Theatre Company will premiere Yellow Moon, the hotly awaited new play by David Greig, this autumn in the Citizens Theatre, Circle Studio. The show will open on Friday 29 September and run until Saturday 15 October 2006. This production will launch the start of a new era for TAG, which recently returned to its historic home at the Citizens Theatre. Yellow Moon will be TAGs first production in the building since settling back into the heart of the Gorbals; and will provide a storming debut for an exciting season. Written for TAG by David Greig, Yellow Moon is a modern Bonnie and Clyde tale that follows the fortunes of two Fife teenagers on the run. Silent Leila is an introverted girl who has a passion for celebrity magazines. Stag Lee Macalinden is the deadest of dead end kids in a dead end town. They never meant to get mixed up in a murder, but shit happens and now they need a place to hide. Yellow Moon will follow Leila and Lee on their rollercoaster quest to find put who they really are. The play will explore what it means to live in a celebrity-obsessed world and what it is that defines who you are when youre 17 years old. Splicing the exhilaration and often harshness of youth with the magic of theatre, David Greig has crafted a contemporary slice of gangster mythology which will be brought to life by TAG under the direction of Guy Hollands. This is Greigs third commission for TAG, having previously written Petra and Dr Korczaks Example. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
