Judges Wanted Theatregoers are invited to become theatre critics for a year as a regional judging panellist for the prestigious annual TMA Theatre Awards.
The Theatrical Management Association is seeking enthusiastic theatregoers to play a key role in the decision-making process, alongside critics from the national and regional newspapers.
Since 1991, the TMA Theatre Awards have celebrated the very best in British theatre, opera and dance. These unique awards honour individual creative excellence and collaborative artistic effort in performance and production. They champion the excellence and diversity of professional artistic activity seen in regional theatres. The Awards are presented in association with The Stage newspaper.
Around 140 members of the public are appointed every year to assess productions at their local and regional theatres. Successful applicants will be entitled to a pair of complimentary tickets for each eligible production in their area during the judging year which runs from 1st September, 2009, to 31st August, 2010.
The deadline for completed application forms is 31st July, 2009. Applicants will be expected to write a 150 word review of a play they have recently enjoyed and list all the productions that they have seen in the last twelve months.
