Autumn Masterclasses at the Haymarket
The Theatre Royal Haymarket has announced its series of masterclasses
for the autumn:
Tues 4 Oct
Philip Hedley - What Makes A Musical?
Participants are invited to interview people who came to Britain as
an immigrant and bring their stories and experiences to the event. Hedley
will use these to explore what can make a musical story.
Fri 7 Oct
Clive Rowe
An intensive workshop on songs, working with four young artists and
discussing what takes place with everyone attending.
Tues 11 Oct
Forkbeard Fantasy
The madcap masters in the integration of film/cine with theatre lead
a session looking at their unique craft, working with participants
on stage and lots of equipment and gizmos! The Fall of the House
of Usherettes is playing at the Riverside Studios the same week,
with a ticket offer extended to Masterclass attendees.

Geoffrey Colman - Drama Schools: What DO They Want?!
Geoffrey is Head of Acting at Central and gives this masterclass explaining
and showing, through an audition speech workshop, exactly what drama
schools expect.

Joe Penhall
Writer Joe Penhall in discussion about his work in theatre (Blue/Orange)and
film (Enduring Love).
Thurs 3 Nov
Steven Pimlott
Join director Steven Pimlott for a masterclass where he works with
young directors to develop their work on chosen scenes. We are seeking
applications at the moment to take up these places.
All the events begin at 2.30pm on the Haymarket stage, except for
18th Oct which begins at 2.00pm. Sessions run approx. 2hrs and offer
an informal, informative and inspiring look at theatre, its crafts
and its creativity.
