35,000 Tickets Sold in Newcastle - for Next Year's Panto! To date more than 35,000 tickets have been sold for this year's Newcastle Theatre Royal pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, making it the fastest selling pantomime in the Theatre Royal's history and pantomime producer Qdos' top selling show in the country. And due to public demand the stars of the Theatre Royal's pantomime Cinderella will be reunited on stage in the show which runs from Monday 11th December 2006 to Saturday 20th January 2007. Jill Halfpenny returns as Mother Nature, along with Clive Webb (Farmer Trot), Danny Adams (Jack) and Washington born Lauren Hall (Princess Jill) in the show that is on course to blast all attendance records at the venue. Set in the Village of Tiddling on the Tyne, Jack and the Beanstalk also features North East actor Craig Conway - Jill Halfpenny's fiancé -and legendary pantomime dame Brian Godfrey. Wallsend born Michael Harrison of Qdos Entertainment, executive producer and writer of Jack and the Beanstalk, is the man responsible for reuniting the cast for another season. "Cinderella was a runaway success and the feedback we received from the audience was phenomenal. "Jill was stunning as the Fairy Godmother and Clive and Danny who played the Baron and Buttons in Cinderella were definite crowd pleasers. Lauren did an amazing job in the title role and it's fantastic news that all the cast can join us again for another pantomime season at the Theatre Royal. "We have some very special surprises this year including some amazing film sequences and the biggest giant in pantoland!" The Theatre Royal pantomime is one of the most popular events in the North East and last year attracted more than 70,000 people over 71 performances. Philip Bernays, chief executive of the Theatre Royal said, "We received masses of emails and letters from patrons telling us how much they enjoyed last year's show, Cinderella. "We are looking forward to welcoming back such a talented cast and I'm confident the Theatre Royal pantomime will be as popular as ever." The Theatre Royal has asked us to point out that it does not accept magic beans as payment for tickets to this year's pantomime.
