Come Dancing at Stratford East Following the success of The Harder They Come, which has transferred to the Playhouse Theatre, the Theatre Royal Stratford East is to produce a new musical, Come Dancing, the brainchild of Ray Davies, former front-man of sixties band The Kinks. Based on the band's hit single of the same name, it is set in the fifties around the Ilford Palais ballroom and tells the universal tale of love triumphing over adversity. Based on Davies' idea and using twenty of his songs, it has a book by Davies and Paul Sirett, with additional material by Terry Johnson, and will be directed by TRSEs Artistic Director Kerry Michael, with choreography by Omar Okai. It will open on 24th September (previews from 13th).
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
