New Exec Director at Watford Watford Palace Theatre has announced that Anne Gallacher will be joining the company as Executive Director from February 2007, to work alongside new Artistic Director and Chief Executive Brigid Larmour. She comes to Watford from Birmingham Royal Ballet where she has been Education Director, heading up an extensive community programme in Birmingham and around the country. Most recently the company was seen working with young people on the Channel 4 series Ballet Changed My Life: Ballet Hoo! Anne is a Fellow on the Clore Leadership Programme, and before taking up her post at BRB worked for organisations including Aberdeen International Youth Festival, Birmingham City Council and West Midlands Arts. Brigid Larmour said, "I am delighted about Anne's appointment. Her range of experience, not only within major arts organisations but also in local authorities, as well as her in-depth knowledge of the education and community sector, will be a huge asset in my plans for the Palace. She has a passion for work which reaches out to connect with its audience." Anne Gallacher said, "I am thrilled to be joining Watford Palace Theatre at such an exciting time for the organisation, and I look forward very much to working with all my new colleagues at the theatre and with our partner organisations in Watford and around the region. I'm impressed by Watford Palace's well-earned national profile and also its strong track record in serving its local community, and I look forward to working with Brigid to take forward her vision for the Theatre's future." Larmour has just announced her first season at the Palace Theatre, which opens with Alan Bennett's Enjoy directed by Christopher Luscombe, followed by Heartbreak House (by George Bernard Shaw, directed by Indhu Rubasingham) and the premiere of Gary Owen's new play We That Are Left, (directed by Brigid). Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
