West Side Story Tour Nears End

The fifitieth anniversary tour of West Side Story is nearing its end. Over 400,000 people have seen the production since it opened at Sadler's Wells where, in its six week stay, it was a complete sell-out and was seen by 72,000 people.

The tour has grossed over £14m since opening in London on 22nd July last year. It sold out its two-week runs at the New Victoria Woking, the Milton Keynes Theatre, the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff and Sheffield Lyceum, and is the most successful show ever staged at the Leeds Grand Theatre. It is the highest grossing two-week musical ever staged at the New Victoria Woking, Milton Keynes Theatre and Newcastle Theatre Royal. Based on audience and sales figures it is also the most successful musical ever staged at the New Wimbledon Theatre and one of the top three most successful shows ever staged at Edinburgh Festival Theatre.

Currently playing at the Bristol Hippodrome, it returns next week to the MIlton Keynes Theatre and ends its run on 25th July with a return visit to The Lowry, Salford.
