Crawford Will Not Return to Woman in White An announcement about casting for the Andrew Lloyd Webber msucial The Woman in White has made it clear that Michael Crawford will not be returing to the show, even though he is not mentioned by name. Crawford was due to return to the show, which he left because of ill health in January, on 4th April to complete the run of his contract, due to end on 28th May. Michael Ball joined the cast as Count Fosco on 10th February, ten days earlier than planned. It has now been announced that Anthony Andrews will play the role from 2nd May, effectively ruling out any chance of Crawford's return in the foreseeable future. It has also been announced that Ruthie Henshall will replace Maria Friedman as Marian from 11th July. There had been rumours that Joanna Riding would be the replacement.
