Monty Python to Replace The Woman in White Spamlot, the musical based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail which is enjoying a successful run at Broadway's Shubert Theatre. where it has won the Best Musical category in the Drama Desk, Tony and Outer Critics Circle Awards, is to replace the current occupant of the West End's Palace Theatre, The Woman in White. The Lloyd Webber musical, based on the novel by Wilkie Collins, will end its run on 25th February after a nineteen month run, although it had been booking until 1st April. Spamalot will open on 2nd October, booking initially until 31st March, 2007. Booking will open on 21st February. However Woman in White producer Sonia Friedman says this is not the end. "It is soon to be the end of the road for the show at the Palace Theatre," she said. "However, it is certainly not the end of the road for The Woman In White. The Broadway production continues its successful run and I look forward to announcing plans for the re-conceived show in another London theatre and our full UK touring dates in due course." It is understood that the show will begin its national tour in Milton Keynes in January 2007. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
