Dateline:16th December, 2005 Let It Snow in Piccadilly!Youth Music Theatre: UK returns for the third year running to St James Church, Picacadilly, one of the most beautiful churches in London, with a spectacular show, Let It Snow 2005, celebrating a years work on the evening of Wednesday 21st December at 7.30.
Following a hectic summer season that saw the company debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with two new musicals, Youth Music Theatre: UK is back with its exciting mix of old favourite Christmas carols and musical numbers from this years productions.
Composed by some of the countrys up-and-coming musical composers and performed by over a hundred young talents from across the UK, the concert features extracts from a selection of musicals including Goblin Market, a haunting fairy tale charting the story of two sisters tempted by goblin merchant men, Please Look at Me Now, a junk opera that looks with warmth and humour at the seductive power of reality TV and Monte Cristo, a rollercoaster-ride full of excitement, revenge and intrigue adapted from the classical novel by Alexandre Dumas.
Last summer Youth Music Theatre: UK run fourteen projects involving more than 500 young people from across the UK. The charity is currently warming up for next season which will kick off in January 2006 with the national auditions programme. Between January and February a team of YMT: UKs directors will be touring the UK seeking out new talents and inspiring young people. Successful auditionees will take part in eight musical theatre productions including Frankenstein, a dramatic version of the famous story by Mary Shelley; The Stones Are Hatching, a musical adaptation of Geraldine McCaughreans novel and Dance!, a brand new work by award-winning Belgian choreographer Liv Lorent.
With a unique emphasis on quality, teamwork, training and, above all, enjoyment, during the coming years YMT: UK will be running projects in all the countries of the British Isles.
