Dateline: 3rd October, 2004 Access All Areas: Disability and Youth Arts Artswork, the national youth arts development agency is running their Artsplan "Access All Areas: disability and youth arts" training course in Southampton on Monday 15th November. With important changes in legislation this course is essential for project and venue managers, as well as anyone looking to use the arts in their work with disabled young people. The course runs 10am-4pm and costs £95 per person inc lunch and refreshments. Numbers are limited so early booking is advised. This one day course, developed in partnership with DADA South, is designed to encourage a broader exploration of equal opportunities within youth arts. It will focus on ways in which opportunities for participation can be developed for young people with physical or learning disabilities. Starting with an exploration of disability arts, this course will provide practical and insightful advice and ideas on ways youth arts can be made more accessible to disabled young people, covering all the issues from project planning to project closure. This course is suitable for anyone working within youth arts, looking to learn more about the issue of accessibility and ensure equal opportunities are a natural part of their project planning; as well as those who would like to include the arts in their current work with disabled young people.
