March at the Bush

The initial sell-out run of adrenalin..heart in The Naked Talent season at The Bush Theatre in 2002, heralded young writer Georgia Fitch as an exciting new voice to watch.

Her extraordinary use of language and the non-sentimental treatment of the consequences of love, obsession and addiction had everyone longing to hear more from her. For those who missed this astonishing debut, adrenalin…heart returns to The Bush Theatre for a limited run from 11th March - 3rd April, direct from representing the UK at the Tokyo International Arts Festival.

"I'd eat glass for you"

On meeting Angel, Leigh's life is turned upside down.

Sex, race, drugs and verbals collide in this terrifying roller-coaster account of an intense affair between a single mum and a reluctant drug dealer on a north London estate. Erotic infatuation leads to addiction of a far more serious nature in this sharp, edgy and obsessive drama.

This production reunites the original creative team - director Mike Bradwell, designer Martin Reynolds, lighting designer Tanya Burns and original cast member Mark Monero as Angel. Fiona Bell will be playing Leigh, the role originally created by Julia Ford.

adrenalin..heart was Georgia's first full length play to receive a professional production and she is currently writing How Do Yu Like Yer Eggs under commission for The Bush Theatre. adrenalin..heart is another example of The Bush Theatre discovering the very best new writing talent and developing debut work to international acclaim.

Taking a risk on Georgia's work has proved to be another case of prospecting for gold for The Bush, as she continues to establish a reputation for herself both here and abroad. Although this is a limited run, we feel sure this play will continue to have a life both in the UK and beyond and that Georgia is well on her way to becoming a major voice in new writing.

Georgia was joint Sheila Lemon Writer in Residence at The Bush in 2001. Previous plays include Alone (Etcetera) and Arrivals (Old Red Lion). She has just finished her next play Madonna and Child and is currently writing How do yu like yer eggs? for the Bush. Together with Tracy O'Flaherty, she has co-written the plays The Footballer's Wife (Riverside Studios ) and Come Dancing ( Old Red Lion). She is currently writer in residence at BBC Radio Drama. Radio includes: adrenalin …heart.
