Three live dance performances are coming to Pavilion Dance South West as part of the Re:Generations Conference by ADAD (The Association of Dance of the African Diaspora).

On 6 November, Kalabanda (translates as The Skeltor), exploring the legend of the malevolent, ghost-like kakalabanda through the eyes of Ugandan boarding school students, will be performed as part of the ‘Thursday Night is Dance Night’ programme.

The evening will be an African and hip hop dance fusion with four works by Ugandan dance company Tabu Flo and UK hip hop legend Jonzi D, including a world première.

On 7 and 8 November, there will be an International Mixed Bill, which will feature performances from different international dance companies and artists.

Ghislaine Dote will present an energetic contemporary musical comedy; Tabanka Dance Ensemble will perform to a modern Reggae musical score; Camille Brown celebrates the limitless gift of being a woman; Zab Maboungou references the aesthetic of African traditional dances; IRIE dance Theatre explores the vibrancy, passion, danger and power normally associated with the colour red; and Tabu Flo & Jonzi D have created a new work for this event.
