balletLORENT is to revive After Dark, the celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary last year, in Newcastle in March.

After Dark focuses on what Artistic Director Liv Lorent calls its “heritage of adult and site specific work” and features elements of la nuit intime (2006), Designer Body (2008) and The Night Ball (2013).

The revival will run from 28 to 30 March at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, but it will be very different from the usual Theatre Royal show for it will be performed on the stage, cabaret-style. The seating will be across the whole stage and partially into the wings and is non-allocated (available on a first come, first served basis, with the exception of any customers who are wheelchair users). The stage at the Royal is raked so tables will be levelled off for the performance, although the seating will be on the rake.

There will be two wheelchair accessible areas per performance and customers booking a wheelchair accessible position will need to bring a companion. Contact the box office for further information.

The dancers move amongst the audience, with performances spread throughout the area. The audience are really up close and in the middle of it all.

The show starts at 8:30 but audience members are invited to arrive at 7:30 and have a drink in their seats prior to the beginning.

Tickets (which are very limited) are £30. After Dark is suitable for ages 16+.
