To coincide with the world première of Akram Khan’s Giselle at The Palace Theatre, Manchester from 27 September to 1 October, English National Ballet, Manchester International Festival and the Whitworth Art Gallery are to present Artist Sundays: Akram Khan’s Giselle Takeover, a programme of free activity, on Sunday 18 September.

Featuring artists from Giselle, ENB, ENB Philharmonic and from across the North West, the programme will include a pop-up design exhibition, an original dance film, family dance and music workshops, a taster session for ENB’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme and live dance performances.

Khan's Giselle for ENB, his first full-length ballet, brings a new interpretation to the classic story of love, betrayal and redemption with set and costume design from Academy Award-winning designer Tim Yip, (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and a new adaptation of the original Adolphe Adam score performed live by the ENB Philharmonic.

ENB and Khan previously collaborated on Dust, part of the Lest We Forget programme.
