EastEnders Star to Make West End Debut James Alexandrou - who starred as Martin Fowler in EastEnders for ten years - is to make his West End stage debut in the dark comedy In My Name. Written by Paines Plough writer Steven Hevey and produced by Yaller Skunk Theatre Company, the play transfers to the Trafalgar Studios following a sold-out run at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington. It's not easy being optimistic in London but on the day after winning the bid for the Olympics the world suddenly felt a lot brighter. And then a bomb went off... In My Name is described as a bold and funny insight into the consequences of allowing life to pass you by... because no matter how much you bury your head in the sand, the world has a funny way of forcing itself right through your front door. James Alexandrou attended the Anna Scher Theatre in Islington from the age of eight, andjoined EastEnders at 11. At 19, he attended the New York Film Academy to study filmmaking, and at 21 left Albert Square. He made his radio drama debut in Harold Pinter's The Homecoming for BBC Radio 4, with a cast that included Pinter himself, Michael Gambon, Rupert Graves, Samuel West and Gina McKee. He recently made both his stage and Shakespearean debut playing Pistol in Henry V and Orlando in As You Like It. In My Name runs at Trafalgar Studios 2 from Tuesday 1st to Saturday 19th July.
