London's Canal Café Theatre opens its new season looking at American theatre this month, titled America: Past. Present. Future.
The season opener is Alfred Uhry’s now classic Driving Miss Daisy, with the UK première of The Understudy by Theresa Rebeck next year.
The season closes with a new commissioned work which involves anonymous writers submitting a synopsis, from which a shortlist of three will provide three scenes and the winner will be selected from this stage.
The commissioned writer will receive support to complete the play which will have a full production at the venue.
The period for submissions is November 2016 to 1 February.
