The Nowt Part Of Festival is coming to Manchester from July 8-14.

Specialising in original small cast drama, six north west companies will be performing a variety of plays during the week.

Jenny Trethewey, who runs the John Cooper Clarke Theatre at the Black Lion in Salford, is hosting the event.

The programme features a diverse selection modern work. Face Value is a story of vanity and greed contrasting with the comical exposure of The Harpington Toad Fanciers Society. In Vienna things don’t exactly turn out as expected for Ultravox fan Barry while during Squaring the Circle someone will die. There will also be one-person shows by Stephanie Claire, Josh Coates and Jon Coleman.

‘Nowt Part Of’ organiser Mike Francis Carvalho commented, “The format and design provides an intimate alternative and balance to the Manchester International Festival and the intention is to run the event on a biennial basis.

"Given the growth of interest in grass roots festival culture together with recent expansive media development, Salford is an ideal choice of location”.
