I Capture the Castle

Octagon Theatre Bolton stages the world première of musical I Capture the Castle, based on the novel by Dodie Smith and co-produced with Watford Palace Theatre.

Set in the Bohemian England of the 1930s, Smith’s classic is a warm and sharply funny coming-of-age story. The script by Teresa Howard tells the story through the eyes of 17-year-old narrator Cassandra.

This brand new musical will be brought to life by nine actors. Lowri Izzard will play Cassandra, Suzanne Ahmet will be her unconventional stepmother, Topaz, and Kate Batter will be her irritating older sister, Rose. Ben Watson will be taking on the role of James, Cassandra and Rose’s father, a novelist who hasn’t written a word in years.
