The MGCfutures Bursary Programme is now open for applications for support ranging from £500 to £5,000 for people engaged in careers across the theatre industry.
Previous bursaries, which are not available to support training or as investments in productions, have provided funding to run workshops and purchase tools.
In a new initiative with the Gate Theatre, a £2,500 bursary is also offered for a BAME designer to work as design assistant during the venue's new season under the mentorship of associate director Anthony Simpson-Pike and associate artist Rosie Elnile.
This year, the funds of MGCfutures, which provides the bursaries, will be swelled by the proceeds from a special gala performance of The Lieutenant of Inishmore on 6 September. Tickets for the gala may be purchased online.
Applications must be submitted via the MGCfutures web site by 12 noon on 6 August.
