Glasgow's Arches Invites Applications for Directors Award

The Arches Award for Stage Directors aims to support the UK's most talented young / emergent stage directors and offer them a unique opportunity to stage a fully funded theatre production.

In line with the Arches' long-standing commitment to supporting and nurturing emergent theatre talent, and supported by the Scottish Arts Council, this award is open to all stage directors (now graduated) who can demonstrate a commitment to working professionally in Scotland.

The two award winners will each receive

• A production budget of £6000
• The services of a stage manager, production manager and a lighting designer
• Technical assistance, standard sound and lighting facilities for each performance space and rehearsal space
• A workshop / preparation week funded by the National Theatre of Scotland
• The support of an experienced directing mentor at all stages of the preparation and production process
• Billing and marketing of the production under the banner `Arches Theatre Company'
• Full press and marketing support for stagings at the Arches Theatre Festival and at Traverse Theatre in Spring 2007
