Dateline: 19th October, 2003

2 for 1 at the Arcola

:London's Arcola Theatre is offering two tickets for the price of one for A Special Relationship by Sara Clifford on 20th to 25th October at 8.00pm.

Sam is black, 25 and on Death Row.
Barbara is white, British, and old enough to be his mother.
Different in every way, they have forged a relationship through their letters and now they are to meet for the first time.

“For five hours, two people from different worlds are eyeball to eyeball in a tiny claustrophobic cell amidst the stench of imminent death, sweat and fear. Sara Clifford's two-hander is a heartfelt piece of writing that is given a major fillip by Lucy Pitman-Wallace's stylish and taut production and such cracking performances from David Fishley and Amelda Brown that it is almost unbearable to sit with them for 90 minutes” The Guardian

Tickets are £10 (£5 concessions), except on Tuesdays which are "pay what you can".
