Award-winning play for Merseyside

Clybourne Park

Clybourne Park, a modern classic and winner of the Pulitzer, Olivier and Tony awards comes to Liverpool’s Unity Theatre next week.

It’s 1959. Russ and Bev are selling their house at a knockdown price. But the buyers don’t meet the approval of the very white and very middle-class Neighbourhood Association.

Fast-forward 50 years. In the now predominantly black neighbourhood, Steve and Lindsey face similar opposition as they unveil their plans for the same property.

A funny and provocative play that snatches at the thin veil of political correctness and exposes the fear and mistrust that lurk beneath.
