Into 2011 at the Barbican

The Barbican has announced new productions from late 2010 into 2011.

From 16th September to 2nd October, 2010, Frantic Assembly and the National Theatre of Scotland will present Beautiful Burnout by Bryony Lavery, following its premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe, and the following month the NTS returns with a revival of its hugely successful Black Watch (27th November to 8th January). Also in November is a revival of Complicite’s Shun-kin.

In February Robert Lapage returns with The Blue Dragon, a sequel to the 2005 six-hour production The Dragons’ Trilogy, which picks up the lives of two of its characters twenty years later.

In the spring Peter Brook will present a new adaptation of Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Cheek By Jowl will bring a Russian-language production of The Tempest.

In June John Malkovitch will appear in a “dramatised concert” written for a Baroque orchestra, two sopranos and an actor", The Infernal Comedy – Confessions Of A Serial Killer, about convicted murderer and poet, Austrian Jack Unterweger.
