Dateline: 30th November, 2005
Next year London's Barbican is to present the first ever panto in its 25-year existence - and it will be written by the often (usually?) controversial Mark Ravenhill. The show will be a traditional panto, says the venue's Head of Theatre Louise Jeffreys, but will have a modern feel to it. Ravenhill is delighted. I fell in love with panto when I was four," he said, "and Ive always wanted to write one. I cant wait! They have chosen Dick Whittington and it will open on 5th Decembe 2006 (previews from 29th November) and will run until 7th January, 2007. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
