Tour dates have been unveiled for Patrick Barlow’s new play The Messiah which will open at Birmingham REP.
As previously announced, Hugh Dennis, Lesley Garrett and John Marquez will play a cast of thousands in the comedy by the writer of the Olivier Award-winning The 39 Steps.
A travelling theatre troupe of two actors and an opera singer appear in “a hilarious Christmas comedy that conjures up the sublime, the ridiculous and the truly angelic”.
The Messiah will be at Birmingham REP from 15 until 27 October. It then tours to New Theatre, Cardiff; Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield; Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham; and Richmond Theatre until 1 December.
