The Fire Station launch show

Rehearsal dates have been announced for the show which will launch The Fire Station in Sunderland on 23 November.

As we reported at the beginning of September, the opening performance, which will be a mixture of movement, music, pyrotechnics and drama, will be the story of the Sunderland Dragon, a new take on the story of the Lambton Worm and will be created by outdoor theatre company Periplum in association with Live Theatre, Dance City and Sunderland Music Education Hub (SMEH) which will be resident in the Fire Station.

The first series of rehearsals will be “taster” sessions in drama, dance and music and will be open to anyone with an interest in dance, music, movement or performance, from ages 16 and over. Later sessions will focus on the actual performance.

The dates of these taster sessions have now been announced. Participants will only be required to attend one of the sessions in each week. The first sessions will be as follows and the next three will follow in succession exactly a week later:
