Lennon’s Banjo, the new comedy stage play, opens at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre on April 24—and features original Beatle drummer Pete Best.
The two-week run continues until May 5 and Pete will appear as himself in three special performances.
The play is a cross between fact and fiction, based on the 2012 novel Julia’s Banjo, the holy grail of music memorabilia—the missing banjo on which John Lennon was taught to play music by his mother Julia Lennon.
