"Be Quiet or Don't Bother Coming!" Kevin Spacey has launched a stinging attack on audience members who show lack of consideration for others. Those who don't know how to behave, who allow their mobiles to ring or rustle sweet papers, sholdn't come to the theatre, he told the Radio 4 programme Front Row last night. "You have to respect the fact there is some degree of behaviour that we expect in the theatre," he told presenter Mark Lawson, "and were going to demand it at the Old Vic. Its a phone free zone. We dont want them ringing and we certainly dont want them ringing and people ignoring them pretending that its not theirs." Mobile phones have been banned by law in New York concerts, films, plays, lectures, dance performances, museums, libraries and galleries and anyone using them, including those writing text messages, are liable to an on-the-spot fine, although they can be used in foyers and during intervals. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
