More than 25 events will take place over five days in Nottdance 2017, Nottingham’s biennial festival of choreography and dance.

The festival takes a future look at choreography in the UK and celebrates new works from Charles Linehan, Matthias Sperling and Lucy Suggate along with other UK-based artists who are cultivating visions of the future by provoking discussion and debate.

Independently owned Backlit Gallery will present Milk and Blood by Franko B while Nottingham Playhouse and Nottingham Lakeside Arts are showcasing work as part of Nottdance 2017.

Paul Russ, chief executive of international dance organisation Dance4 which is producing the festival, said, “Nottdance continues to be a vital platform to present new ideas for audiences. It’s a festival that challenges perceptions while being playful and entertaining.”

Nottdance 2017 is co-curated by choreographer Matthias Sperling who will be leading three debates discussing politics, museums and what next in the context of dance.

Many of the events at Nottdance 2017 which takes place from Wednesday 8 until Sunday 12 March, are free. Places can be reserved at the Dance4 web site.
