Birmingham REP goes dotty for dalmatians

Setting tails wagging: Birmingham REP

Debbie Isitt, writer and director of the Nativity! films, has adapted Dodie Smith’s The Hundred and One Dalmatians which will be the Christmas 2017 production at Birmingham REP.

Director Tessa Walker said, “I’m delighted to bring to life the magic of The Hundred And One Dalmatians in our production which features wonderful puppets and new music.

“Debbie Isitt’s adaptation is packed with enchantment and humour, and will bring a thrilling new sense of adventure to this story, making it fun for families of all ages.”

The stage adaptation of Nativity! The Musical, also written and directed by Isitt, opens its national tour at the REP in October 2017.

Walker, the REP’s associate director, was responsible for the record-breaking 2015 REP production The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and A Christmas Carol in 2013.

The Hundred and One Dalmatians runs at the REP from Thursday 30 November until Saturday 13 January 2018.
