Boy Blue Entertainment at the Barbican

Barbican Artistic Associate Boy Blue Entertainment will present the world première of a new triple bill, Blak Whyte Gray, in the Barbican Theatre (Thursday 12 to Saturday 21 January 2017), whilst in The Pit (15 and 29 January 2017) it will shine a spotlight on the next generation of UK hip-hop theatre and dance pioneers in NeXT.

Also in the Theatre, Boy Blue will host a panel discussion on the future of the art form and the company’s co-founders, Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy and Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, will lead a Weekend Lab about their working processes. On Saturday 14 January, Hip-Hop Matters is a panel discussion bringing together Boy Blue and the Blak Whyte Gray creative team to interrogate the issues explored in the production.

On Saturday 21 January, Sandy and Asante will lead a practical workshop exploring the working processes behind Blak Whyte Gray, suitable for students in higher education and training, emerging artists and professionals aged 16+.

Later that evening, B.S.I Jam: Boy Blue After Party sees Asante and guests play their favourite r ’n’ b, hip-hop, funk, house and old skool music in the Barbican foyers. Boy Blue will also host Freestyle Live and The Showcase on the Freestage on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 January.
