Third Bridge Project Season Delay? According to a report in the Evening Standard, the third season of Sam Mendes' Bridge Project, which brings an Anglo-American company to perform two classic plays in rep at the Old Vic after playing at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and touring internationally, could be delayed until 2012. This would mean the season coinciding with the Olympics. It was supposed to happen next year but, according to the report, Mendes' work commitments, including a production of Lear with Simon Russell Beale at the National, make the Bridge season unlikely. The productions of the second year of the Project, As You Like It and The Tempest, are currently running at the Old Vic. No productions for the third season have yet been announced but there have been rumours of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard being a strong favourite.
