In June production company Bright Choice was awarded a New producer
Bursary from the Theatre Investment Fund for a residency at the London
Fringe venue, the Courtyard Theatre in King's Cross. With additional
support from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, the residency will go ahead
from 17th December to 12th January.
"Getting started as a professional theatre producer is notoriously
difficult," says James Seabright, "so the New Producer's Bursary
scheme is nothing short of a godsend. Not only has it provided my production
company with a financial injection; more importantly it has given me
an established mentor to help me through the project. I'm hoping that
the residency at the Courtyard will help to establish the Bright Choice
name, opening the door to higher profile projects in the future. At
the same time, it's a delight to be working in one of London's most
exciting Fringe spaces on two unique premieres with a talented and dedicated
team."

The Map Maker's Sorrow
by Chris Lee
"I think it's a nasty little vice actually. To blame your parents
for the failure of your own life"
The UK premiere of a play first seen at Ireland's national playhouse,
The Abbey Theatre. A cartographer, a sleep deprivation specialist
and their dead son map the uncharted territories that separate parents
from their children in this darkly comic play, which is at once powerful
and uplifting.
It is directed by RSC Buzz Goodbody award winner Owen Lewis, whose
recent production of 'Swimming In The Shallows' was described as "near
perfect" by The Stage and "a Fringe highlight" by The
List.
"He doesn't like anything. He doesn't like boxing. He doesn't
