Brits in the States Two interesting snippets of news of British interest from Variety: Jerry Springer - the Opera will finally reach New York in January after a planned Broadway transfer in 2005 failed to materialise. It will play for two nights only at Carnegie Hall on 29th and 30th January and will feature Harvey Keitel as Springer. The production will be directed by Jason Moore (Avenue Q) and produced by David J. Foster and Jared Geller and Avalon Promotions. No further casting or toher details have yet been announced. Eric Idle is to give his new play What About Dick?, co-written with Spamalot composer John Du Prez, a try-out in Hollywood at the Ricardo Montalban Theater on Vine Street on 10th and 11th November. In the cast will be Idle himself, along with Billy Connolly, Tim Curry, Eddie Izzard, Jane Leeves, Emily Mortimer, Jim Piddock and Tracey Ullman.
